The Global Association for Corporate Services (GACS) on 24th July 2019 conducted a Knowledge Conclave for the Andhra Pradesh & Telangana chapter in Hyderabad @ AVASA Hotel, Hitec City. The theme for this Knowledge Conclave was “Business Continuity & Resilience” which focuses on the business continuity management in case of any disaster, and its importance.
The event was inaugurated by Major General K Eswaran (Retd), Captain Rajesh Sharma - Managing Director, Cushman & Wakefield , Col. Ashok Prabhakar (Retd) and Capt Collaso ( Retd) along with other Senior Business Leaders and Professionals from both Manufacturing and Service sector in India & Diplomats.
The event began with Capt Rajesh Sharma welcoming the audience and introducing the Chapter leaders of GACS , Andhra Pradesh and Telengana Chapter Praveen Upadhyay, Haraprasad Panda, Santosh Upadhyay, Siva Prasad Reddy Kadapana and Maloncho Raychaudhuri who have been the flag bearers in setting up this Knowledge Conclave. The emcee of the event Praveen Upadhyay updated the audience about the progress made by the Chapter in the past 9 months and has been successful in garnering the support of around 230 members so far. Further, he requested for the support of other fraternity members by encouraging them to become a part of GACS.
Thereafter, Praveen Upadhyay invited Capt. Allroy Collaco – Co Founding Member of GACS on the stage. Capt. Allroy expressed his views and briefed the audience on the journey of GACS across each chapter so far and how this association has benefited the entire fraternity in a short period of time.
He was followed by Guest of Honour and panel member Mr. Anil Saini - COO L&T Metro Rail, Hyderabad being invited onto the stage and share his views on “Disruption of business, is it a reality or myth and why BCP is important”. He walked us through the journey of Metro Rail since its’ inception and how their team has efficiently delivered this Project at Hyderabad and is still effective with continual improvement.
Later there was a panel discussion on the topic “Business Continuity & Resilience” where all the panelists Vikrant Varshney - Chief Risk Officer & Managing Partner, Risk Resources | Anil Saini - COO L&T Metro Rail, Hyderabad | V Srinivasa Prasad - Regional Director Facilities, India & UAE, Opentext | Vijay Kumar Ramakrishnan - Executive Director, UBS who have shared their views and insights with the audience. This panel discussion was moderated by Ralph Sunil – Group Head Facility Management Services of GMR.
Praveen Upadhyay then invited Col. Ashok Prabhakar – GACS North India Chapter Leader on the stage who addressed the audience about the journey of North India Chapter and how this chapter has risen from 200 to 1800 members, including the sub chapters of Rajasthan & Chandigarh.
All our supporting partners were felicitated by our respective GACS Leaders. Session ended with a joyful performance by Avinash Agarwal, a Standup Comedian. Avinash humored the audience with his quick wit.
This event proved to be a success witnessing more than 200 like-minded professionals coming together to further strengthening the bond of the fraternity.
