GACS to promote skills development in the Indian Industry

5th August 2017, New Delhi: The Global Association for Corporate Services (GACS) India Chapter was launched today by Mr. Vikrampati Singhania, Director, JK Organisation at an event attended by senior business leaders and professionals from both manufacturing and service sector in India. Guest speakers at the event included Shri Vivek Tankha Member of Parliament and Shri Bibhor Shrivastava Group Editor, ITP Publishing House. Also present at the launch were distinguished leaders from diverse fields and industries and many senior government officials. Speaking at the event Mr. Singhania, congratulated the GACS India team and said that “The service industry is today an integral part of all industries, including the manufacturing sector because of its heterogeneous nature. Services, including IT and other services, aid manufacturing processes by supporting both upstream and downstream activities. All together, they create a valuable consumer experience. The two are, in fact, intertwined and hence, it is only fair to say that services sector has driven growth of the manufacturing sector in recent times by supplementing and complementing operations from product ideation to development and shipping” There was also a lively and insightful Panel discussion on the topic “Corporate Services: Opportunities and Challenges in the 21st century” where the panel included Sanjeev Shriya of Syscom, Sunil Goyal of Sapra Steria India, Maninder Singh Grewal of Dion Global Solutions and Ashwani Acharya of CAE Simulation Training who shared their views and insights with audience. This panel discussion was moderated by Capt Rajesh Sharma of C&W. GACS is a first of its kind membership based umbrella association of the corporate services professionals in India that includes all enabling services in a business-like Facilities Management, Real Estate & infrastructure Development, Information Technology, Travel and Hospitality, Human Resources etc. A first of its kind initiative in India, GACS through its eight dedicated verticals, a specially developed “App” and carious digital platforms would not only be a knowledge sharing and skills development platform for the corporate services professionals in the industry but would also provide advice and support to the start-ups in the industry. The evening began with Sameer Saxena welcoming the audience and introduced senior industry leaders who have been instrumental in setting up the GACS who briefed the audience on the activities that would be taken up by the eight verticals. The event was attended by well over five hundred senior professionals from the industry and a few celebrities like Aarushi Sharma, Senorita Miss India 2016 and Mrs India International 2017 Renu Kelkar.
